The Amazing Dave Elstun began his lifelong love affair with the art of Magic at the age of six. Then in the early 1970s opportunity presented itself to Dave. Along with a new found public interest in magic, came an explosion of magic shops. Dave began taking lessons at The Wizard Magic Shop in Boulder, Colorado.

In 1974 AAA Colorado hired Dave to create a school program called The Magic of Safety. Blending eye popping magic, with lessons in bicycle and pedestrian safety, this wildly successful program toured Colorado schools for 4 seasons. The presentation was seen by more then 200,000 children per year. This was where Daves real education in the art of showmanship began. There is no substitute for a real audience!

In 1980 Dave graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a BA in Theater and a minor in Mass Communication. After 2 years in radio Dave returned to magic. Opportunity once again presented itself in 1982 when Dave joined Zeezos Magic Castle. For 7 years Dave managed and then owned Zeezos Magic Castle in Buckingham Square Shopping Center. During this time Dave served as President of the Merchants Association and as Vice President of the Aurora Salesman with a Purpose Club. In 1989 Dave dedicated himself to performing full-time

To fill the time while Dave re-established himself as a full time performer, Dave began street performing. In retrospect it was one of the best decisions he could have made. Now using the title of The Amazing Dave Elstun he developed his Straitjacket escape (The Jacket of Doom) into a comic masterpiece. He also learned how to gain and hold the attention of a large crowd of people. During this time The Amazing Dave saw his career explode. Today The Amazing Dave Elstun is the house magician at Colorado’s famous Riviera Casino in Black Hawk. Dave is in demand not only as a performer at Casino's but also in schools, fairs and festivals. Large corporations use Dave's services for walk-around and as after dinner entertainment. The Amazing Dave Elstun is now so busy with professional paid jobs that he has little time for the street.

In 1998 Dave married the competition. Today David and Connie (of Connie Co's. Magic for Children fame) run Elstun Magic Productions, where together they offer a full menu of magical services.
