Biography
Thomas Trantum attended The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio for his Bachelor’s degree in Economics. Mr. Trantum later attended New York University’s Stern School of Business, earning a Master’s degree in Business Administration with emphasis on Security Analysis. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Mr. Thomas Trantum currently resides in the Nashville, Tennessee area. Thomas Trantum today operates the Trantum Investment Management Company, LLC as President and Co-Founder. Trantum Investment Management Company, LLC is a startup money management and financial services firm that Mr. Trantum runs alongside his son and co-manager, Josh. Trantum Investment Management Company, LLC is individual equity investor-oriented, and Thomas Trantum supervises all parts of the enterprise, including market research, individual account management, advertising, and overall business strategy. Thomas Trantum has led Trantum Investment Management Company, LLC to a position where the firm outperforms the S&P 500 in individual stock management. Thomas Trantum received a Presidential appointment under the Carter administration to the Interstate Commerce Commission, where he and six fellow commissioners voted on all route authority, price, merger, and abandonment issues. During that time, Thomas Trantum became a major advocate of deregulation, taking weekly trips to the Capital and regularly appearing before the motor carrier and railroad communities. Beyond his business activities, Thomas Trantum gives back to his community by acting as the President of the Alcohol and Drug Council of Middle Tennessee. Thomas Trantum recently celebrated his 40th wedding anniversary with his wife and four sons; in his free time, he enjoys boating, playing golf, and reading.
