Biography

As President and Senior Design Engineer of Communication Design Group, Scott has extensive experience in design, engineering and development for unique advanced visual communications and videoconference systems. Scott has worked with CSX Technologies, General Electric, Associated Industries of Florida, Gulfstream Aerospace, McDonnell Douglas, Grumman Aerospace, NASA, Xerox, U. S. Air, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, MCI, Sprint, AT& T, Bristol- Myers Squibb, General Electric -Information Systems, the FDIC, T. Rowe Price, Northrop Grumman, Schlumberger International, Gannett Communications, International Paper, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Inc., and many other high technology companies and organizations. He has also worked under the highest clearance with the US Treasury, the FBI, the US Navy, the US Naval Surface Warfare Center, and other special government institutions.
Scott holds a BA from Mary Washington College (1977) and an MFA in Design and Technology from Texas Christian University (1979). He has served on the faculty of TCU, Cornell University, and The University of Missouri. Scott has also served as a guest lecturer for The George Washington University- School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, teaching classes on modern Digital Communications Systems Design.
Scott has received numerous professional awards, and holds the distinction of being the only individual to have ever been named "Educator of the Year" by the ICIA (1999), the NSCA (2003) and CEDIA (2005). He serves as a senior instructor to each of these professional industry associations, and as an advisor to many other groups.
Scott lives and works near Savannah, Georgia, on Tybee Island, with his wife of more than 25 years. Scott and Sandra co-own ChopperDetailing.com and PowderCoatingProfessionals.com. Scott is a sponsor of Team Tybee Island, a professional 2- person catamaran sailing team, and in his special free time he is the lone sponsor of the non-profit Domestic Panthera, (DomesticPanthera.com), an organization dedicated to genetic and behavioral research to preserve the line and improve the lives of tigers around the world.
