Distinguished education professional Mr. Robert Shindell earned his Master of Arts in Training & Development from Midwestern State University (MSU), where he focused on the behavior of students at the school’s College of Business Administration.Established as Wichita Falls Junior College in 1922, the school quickly expanded its programs, earning the distinction of becoming a senior college in 1946 and university in 1950. A decade later, the school became a state university and officially adopted its current name in 1975.
Supporting nearly 7,000 students, MSU is divided into six colleges with a full spectrum of academic programs. At present, MSU is the only university in Texas that is a member of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges and the first public university to establish a core curriculum.While studying for his Master of Arts at Midwestern State University,
Robert Shindell served as the Director of the school’s Career Management Center. During his tenure as Director, Robert Shindell implemented an internship program that provided employment opportunities for all of the school’s students.
Robert Shindell also forged a new Career Management program for the school’s undergraduates and created a First-Year Experience course for business students. Regularly meeting with students, he helped both undergraduate and graduate students identify their career goals and the steps necessary to take in order to achieve those goals.After earning his graduate degree,
Robert Shindell relocated to Lubbock, Texas, where he began working toward a Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education Administration at Texas Tech University. Robert Shindell was a recipient of the Helen DeVitt-Jones Scholarship.
