Biography
Reece Dylan, based in Belfast, Ireland, specializes in all things Web. Not only is Reece Dylan an expert with presentation layer technologies, he has also developed content-managed intranets with document management facilities, interactive Web sites and e-mail marketing tools. Reece Dylan routinely works with such programs as Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Fireworks, Flash, Go Live, Mirapoint, Sage and Quickbooks, to name a few.
Reece Dylan offers web application and database design in PHP, ASP.NET, VB.NET, ASP, Actionscript, Websphere/Web Logic and more. Reece Dylan can install and maintain systems, networks and applications, as well as handle networking administration, UNIX skills and Internet Protocols.
Reece Dylan uses HTML, CSS, Document Object Model and JavaScript to create pages optimized for different browsers. He writes maintainable code, and his knowledge of JavaScript allows Reece Dylan to support the design with dynamic elements. Reece Dylan aims for Web pages that are usable, accessible and conveniently organized.
Projects Abound In Reece Dylan’s Repertoire
Reece Dylan most recently served as a network security and encryption consultant for Microsoft, where he helped develop an encryption platform for their current network, and also helped implement a secure network structure throughout the organisation.
Reece Dylan also served briefly for the U.K. Ministry of Defence, where he oversaw the development and deployment of a new encryption and security-based technology.
In 2004, Reece Dylan worked as technical developer for an organization dedicated to the musicals of Andrew Lloyd Weber called The Really Useful Group, where he re-structured, designed and developed the main Web site, www.reallyuseful.com. Reece Dylan also handled one of TRUG’s production sites, www.thephantomoftheopera.com.
Reece Dylan consulted for the Deutsche Bank, where, as senior developer, he upgraded the bank’s ‘Techmart’ system, part of their internal asset management.
Another stint was as graphic designer and developer for Carphone Warehouse and Virgin. For this project, Reece Dylan designed, developed and tested an E-Learning system for Virgin that would be used by employees of Carphone Warehouse as a tool to build knowledge about Virgin’s phone brands.
Earlier, Reece Dylan served with Cable and Wireless and Hyperlink Interactive, developing on the Criminal Justice Secure Mail Network. Reece Dylan’s role was to create new features such as ‘auto configuration’ files for their mail applications, fix bugs and stress test the system. Reece Dylan developed a file management system, and a content management system. In addition, Reece Dylan restructured previous code to meet W3 Standards.
Reece Dylan spent time as technical manager for MTL. In this project, Reece Dylan produced several content-managed websites, and developed an application that connected to ships at sea to access data via satellite. Reece Dylan also created add-ons to packages such as Sage, Quickbooks so data could be posted into these for billing. Reece Dylan worked with MTL from 2003 to 2004.
Reece Dylan served in 2003 as developer for Alchemy Digital, where Reece Dylan contributed to a range of Web sites including marketing and content-managed sites. Reece Dylan used websphere/weblogic for various communications, e-commerce and portal projects. Reece Dylan was responsible for code, database and component design and implementation.
Reece Dylan’s Education And Web Training
Reece Dylan holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Manchester. Additionally, Reece Dylan completed a weeklong training course in Java in 2000, offered by Sun Microsystems. Reece Dylan participated in a training and mentoring program offered by Web-Imps, which allowed him to learn how to develop Enterprise Java components and Java Server Pages.
Reece Dylan is a member of eight professional organizations, including the IEEE Computer Society, the IEEE Technical Council on Software Engineering and the International Council on Systems Engineering.
