Biography

CA Can Do Better; Oakland Mills and Columbia Deserve Better

Professionally, I am a vice president of a an international architecture firm, RTKL. My community service includes three terms on the Oakland Mills Village Board, where I've been part of a dynamic group guiding Oakland Mills' revitalization efforts.

I want to represent Oakland Mills on the Columbia Council because I have been a part of Oakland Mill's history for 35 years and I want our village to have a bright future. I beileve that CA should play a greater role in supporting the efforts of the hundreds of village residents who have worked to improve the community we love.

As one of the creators and directors of ID8, the design and graphics core of RTKL, I have created successful urban and environmental graphics programs for major international and national architectural projects. I focus on creating branded and experience-based environments. Internationally, ID8 has projects in Paris; Berlin; Porto, Portugal; Moscow; Seoul; Athens; Tokyo; Warsaw and Astana, Kazakhstan. These include a leisure/retail project in Berlin, several large scale urban, mixed-use and retail projects in Bahrain, Dubai, and Kuwait as well as the Far East.

As I move into a new phase in my life I want to continue to broaden and deepen my involvement in my community. If elected as your Columbia Council Representative, I will encourage CA to take a collaborative role in working with county governments, business, local organizations and residents as we address the challenges and opportunities of a community that is 40 years old.

I feel I have the professional experience, personal commitment to ther values that originally brought us to Columbia and willingness to work with others to realize our hopes for a bright future for Oakland Mills and it's residents.
