Beverly Stayart is the CFO and Director of Business Development for Stayart Law Offices, a postion she has held for over 17 years. Beverly Stayart oversees evidentiary discovery, assists with trial preparation, and interfaces with clients and attorneys. In her spare time, Beverly Stayart enjoys photography, hiking, wildlife watching, and travel. Beverly Stayart actively supports non-profit enterprises, including St. Joseph's Indian School, the Humane Society of the United States, and World Farm Animals Day. In 2007, World Farm Animals Day (WFAD) honored Beverly Stayart with an Award recognizing her contribution to the 25th annual observance of World Farm Animals Day. Beverly Stayart was given this award for speaking out on behalf of the 50 billion animals suffering in the world's factory farms and slaughterhouses. WFAD has been exposing factory farm and slaughterhouse atrocities since 1983. In 2009, the Humane Society of the United States honored Beverly Stayart with a Special Recognition Award for helping to lead the campaign to preserve the baby seal population in Eastern Canada by soliciting restaurant, company and consumer support of the international commercial boycott of Canadian seafood, organizing demonstrations, spearheading letter writing and e-mail campaigns, and coordinating field trips to garner public support. Beverly Stayart is interested in genealogical research, with a special interest in Native American ancestry. Beverly Stayart can trace her genealogy to early colonial America where her fourth great-grandparents, Thomas and Jane (Jefferson) Stephens, settled in Maryland. Beverly Stayart has several famous ancestors, including James Bowles Stephens and Robert Fulton. James Bowles Stephens founded East Portland, Oregon, which later merged with West Portland. Today, many historic landmarks in Portland, including the original James Stephens House and a street named in his honor, commemorate the life of James Bowles Stephens. Another notable ancestor of Beverly Stayart is Robert Fulton. Robert Fulton is most famous for designing and constructing the Clermont in 1807, the first steamboat achieving commercial success.
