Jim Ambras is the Founder and CEO of NotchUp, a Silicon Valley tech start up that has redefined executive level interviewing and recruiting. Mr. James Ambras has been recruiting top talent on an international level for over 20 years and understands what leading corporations are looking for as they seek to grow and expand. Jim Ambras is also well versed in the motivations of top performing executives, particularly those engaged in a passive job search. Jim Ambras tapped his robust recruiting experience and technical expertise to develop the NotchUp website using an open-source platform, Drupal. The NotchUp website was launched January 28th, 2008 and has grown considerably while still in Beta. In addition to search, recruiting and technical skill sets, Jim Ambras has also been actively involved in media. While serving as Vice President of Engineering at the Zip2 Corporation, Jim Ambras facilitated increased revenues for media partners by providing enterprise level software solutions and services that connected advertisers and consumers on a local level. Zip2, utilizing Ambras’s extensive technical skill sets, created online Business Directories, City Guides, Real Estate Guides and Automotive Listings for local media. Zip2 was eventually sold to Compaq in 1999 and was, at the time, the largest all-cash buyout of an internet company. Jim Ambras served as Vice President of Engineering for AltaVista, where he successfully oversaw the development of AltaVista Europe. Earlier in his professional development, Jim Ambras managed software development teams at SGI and also played a key role in establishing the digital media department for the company. Jim Ambras worked at HP labs in the beginning of his career where he researched software development methodologies. Mr. Ambras wrote numerous research papers on the subject. Jim Ambras matriculated at Syracuse University where he studied Computer Science and took his B.S. An avid skier and photographer, Jim Ambras resides in Northern California.
