Biography
Alex Perdikis has built a great foundation in the business world through his extensive experience in the automotive arena. He brings hi-energy, a positive attitude, total discipline, and the ultimate work ethic to his business everyday.
He has been a General Manager with the Jim Koons Automotive Group since January of 2001. As the current Vice-President and General Manager of Koons Tysons Toyota, his responsibilities include building the sales team, professionalzing the services, and retaining a strong customer base. As such he focuses largely on market share, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
From 1997 to 2001, Alex worked in every aspect of the dealership operation. (During the prior summers of 1994 thru 1996 Alex served as a lot porter, detailer, and service assistant.) He started working in Accounting at Koons Lincoln/Mercury Volvo in September of 1997, and shortly after, joined the sales team at Koons of Tysons Corner in December of 1997. Within 3 months of selling, Alex became the organizations top volume sales person, out of all 16 franchises. He was promoted to Sales Manager quickly after, which gave him a tremendous opportunity to exercise his leadership abilities; ultimately earning him the role of General Manager in January of 2001. Finally, he also completed N.A.D.A.’s Dealer Candidate Academy in December of 2000, where his classmates elected him as their President. This year long, graduate level course, prepares its students for owning and operating an automotive dealership.
In his 9 years with the Jim Koons Automotive Company, Alex has directed Koons Tysons Toyota and Koons of Tysons Corner, a Chevrolet and Chrysler dealership. Under his leadership the latter become the highest volume Chevrolet and Chrysler store in the Mid-Atlantic region; with over $150 million in sales annually. Additionally, from 2002 thru 2005, Koons of Tysons Corner was awarded the General Motors Mark of Excellence Award and the Jack Smith Leadership Award - an honor bestowed to the top 1% of all GM franchises for excellence in sales, service, and customer satisfaction. Alex also has been a charter member of the Chevrolet Local Marketing Dealer Board for the Washington area from 2001 to 2005. The board was responsible for all marketing decisions affecting the Chevrolet franchise in the Greater Washington Metro area.
In April of 2005 Alex accepted the challenge ahead of him at Koons Tysons Toyota while becoming and currently serving as Vice-President and General Manager of Jim Koons’ flagship operation. Additionally, Alex is an active member of the Toyota Dealer Advertising Association for the Washington region.
Alex is a 1997 graduate of the University of Richmond, where he also played Varsity Football. He received a degree in Business, with a double concentration in Marketing and Management. He is a first generation Greek-American and a native Washingtonian who was born and raised in Bethesda, graduating from Georgetown Prep in 1993. His hobbies include golfing, working out, and spending time with his family. Alex resides in Maryland with his wife, Dresden, and their two daughters Kaeden Marie and Kosette Cecilia.
