Biography

The hero is merely the one who "did" when others "did not."

A rather unique thing about my history is that at the age of 13 I decided that I wanted to be a lawyer. There was some backpedaling on that. Someone will have to ask me to tell the story. But I worked my way from legal admin (legal secretary) up the ranks to finally (after 30 years old) decide I definitely wanted to be a lawyer.

I got admitted to law school -- actually several (there's another story that goes with that). And I attended University of San Francisco.

Personal circumstances caused me to request and receive a leave of absence. In the interim, I did many things to keep me connected with my ambition and sharp. And it was because of that leave of absence and the alternatives to law that made me realize how broad the opportunities are. The experiences included:

News Reader
Producer and Host of a radio program
Reporter and Writer
News Researcher
Community Mediator
Legal Intern for the City and County of San Francisco Subrogation Division

I realized how each of these situations allowed me to reintegrate my legal experiences in a new, meaningful, and exciting ways.

Had it not been for the detours that have taken me away from law school at this time, I would not have been able to learn the many things that I have learned. It is now time to return to law school and complete the goals associated with that endeavor. Then it will be time to apply the full range of knowledge and skills to accomplish more than was originally anticipated.
