Name one person that has singlehandedly influenced you most
Bill: My dad, Kenneth A. Bro, a member of "The Greatest Generation," was also striken by kidney cancer. He survived the Great Depression and being held as a prisoner of war following the Battle of the Bulge in WWII. He demonstrated single-minded determination in all he did and was generous to a fault. Dad was a genuinely funny person, too. He put me on the right track by encouraging me to become a volunteer in the war against cancer, although he ultimately lost this battle himself.

What is your favorite hobby or past time?
Bill: Antique cars and music. My business includes flying airplanes and I've been a pilot since the 1970s. Now, our 19-year-old son is a Private Pilot. We enjoy flying Stick & Rudder Flying Club's Cessnas on weekends, because our Piper is reserved strictly for business and pilot recency. We inherited a '31 Model A Ford that belonged to my dad. Our kids pitch in on the maintenace of the car and airplane. Our daughter's high school choir performed in 2005 at Carnegie Hall--a big thrill for us.

Name a couple of organizations that you belong to
Bill: Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and the Cancer Leadership Council, Washington, D.C.
|
Describe one of your long-term goals
Bill: Contributing to the elimination of death and suffering due to renal cancers.

If you had the opportunity to start your own company what would it be?
Bill: Probably a biotech company. The convergence of nanotechnology with biotechnology will likely be our best weapon in the war on cancer.
