My name is Jonah Lupton and I'm a very passionate and energetic serial entrepreneur, business advisor, consultant, investor and philanthropist. I'm the Founder & CEO of the InterCapital Group which is a holding company for a variety of operating businesses and startup companies.
Through InterCapital Advisors I provide business services and management consulting to entrepreneurs, executives and nonprofits. Through Parabolic Ventures I provide angel investing and seed capital to local startup companies and young entrepreneurs looking to build the next great company. I'm a Co-Founder at CharityAlly and UpscaleDeals as well as an Advisory Board Member at ePowerhouse, ZigSwitch, TheGoodness and several other emerging companies. I'm the Founder and President of the NextGen Leaders Council, Greater Boston Estate Planning Professionals and Alliance of Professional Advisors.
In an effort to carry out my philanthropic passions I started the Inspired Futures Foundation which raises money and makes grants to local charitable organizations focused on improving the lives and futures of Boston's youth. The Inspired Futures Foundation is also gearing up to begin making grants to young entrepreneurs who are building socially responsibly companies and attempting to solve a large social, economic or health issue. In addition to providing investment capital and advisory expertise in exchange for equity stakes, we'll provide shared office space and other critical resources to help build the team and launch the business.
Myself and several business partners are currently developing a team of advisors to manage a platform for startup companies to submit business plans and ideas. Our team will screen the submissions, provide due diligence, then select the most viable ideas and make introductions to other advisors, possible investors, angel groups and venture capital funds in exchange for equity stakes and/or success-based fundraising fees.
For the past 10 years my career focus was on wealth management and private banking for high-net worth families and institutions. However recently I knew my passions to be an entrepreneur were simply overwhelming and I needed to pursue my dreams. Previously, I was a Co-Founder, Managing Director and Investment Committee Member at Sloane McCarron Capital Advisors, a Multi-Family Office, Insurance and Wealth Management group in Boston, MA & Palm Beach, FL. Prior to Co-Founding Sloan McCarron Capital Advisors I was a Wealth Advisor and Fiduciary Officer at Cambridge Appleton Trust, a boutique Trust Company in Boston, MA. Before that I held various wealth management and investment advisory positions at Citigroup, Smith Barney, Morgan Stanley, and RBS Citizens Bank. At all these great financial institutions I worked with wealthy families, business owners, entrepreneurs and corporate executives to provide comprehensive investment solutions and wealth preservation strategies depending on their personal, family and business needs.
In addition to my professional duties, I'm currently involved with a number of organizations. I'm currently on the Board of Directors at Partners for Youth with Disabilities and a Connector at Boston World Partnerships. I'm also an active member at the MIT Enterprise Forum, Association for Corporate Growth, Boston Estate Planning Council, and Boston Philanthropic Advisory Roundtable. Recently I was part of the Professional Advisor Networking at The Boston Foundation, a Youth Venture Advisor at United Way Emerging Leaders, Membership Committee at the UMass Club and Charter Member at the Downtown Boston Rotary Club. I've also been a mentor at Access Boston and speaker at Salve Regina University, eFactor, ENET and numerous other business roundtables and entrepreneur conferences.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends as well as watching my favorite local sports team, the New England Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics. In the summer months you can typically find me spending weekends in Newport, Nantucket or Cape Cod.
