Interview

An Interview with Ted McCann
Interview conducted on Wednesday, May 16, 2007

What is your favorite quote and what does it mean to you?
Ted: "A team is only as strong as it's weakest link" My Little league Coach said that when I was 11 years old and I will never forget it. If you are constantly strengthening the weakest link someone else will need strengthening soon. Maybe You? Don't worry though, your Team will help you too!

Name a couple of organizations that you belong to
Ted: Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (ABMP) St. Paul Curling Club King Of Kings Lutheran Church

What is your favorite hobby or past time?
Ted: Curling. Without a doubt. I love this game! I have playing since I was five years old and have enjoyed it all of my life. I have had the good fortune to meet and play with some great people and players though out my career. I think what keeps me coming back year after year isn't just the camaraderie between teams and players, but the pursuit of perfection in shot-making and implementing the correct strategy at the right time. Good Luck!

Can you name one accomplishment in your life most people might not know about?
Ted: I was voted MVP of the Tri-Valley Conference in 1994. I was an above average defensive catcher, who took a lot of pride in "calling a good game". I enjoyed calling pitches, blocking balls, stretching the strike zone, communicating with the umpires, and most of all, the adrenaline rush of throwing out base-runners trying to steal on me.

What was your very first job experience and how did it affect you?
Ted: I washed dishes at a restaurant when I was 15. It had a profound affect on me! I knew that I didn't want to be a dishwasher for the rest of my life.

If you could give the world one piece of advice, what would it be?
Ted: Eat your Vegetables! Just Kidding! I think the greatest advice that I could give someone is to show your kids how much you love them everyday. Love them unconditionally and be their parent, not their best friend.
