What is your favorite quote and what does it mean to you?
Michael: The one on the Biography page, “Some men see things as they are and ask why. Others dream things that never were and ask why not.” by George Bernard Shaw. I’ve always been fascinated by new possibilities and exploring new opportunities. This quote is a reminder for me to never stop dreaming about what might be.

Name two aspects of your career that you are most passionate about
Michael: It would be seizing the opportunity to make a difference and working with people to help them make a difference and exceed their expectations.

Do you love what you do? Why?
Michael: I love working in Information Technology. It has a great potential to change they way we work and live. Everyday it presents exciting new challenges and opportunities.

What was the most important decision you have ever made in regards to your career?
Michael: It was probably giving up the “safe” career path I was on as an engineer to go back to school to get my Master of Management at Kellogg. It has opened up endless opportunities.

Do you think that you are successful?
Michael: I have a great family, we are healthy and love what we are doing. I don’t know how you can truly be more successful than that.

Can you name one accomplishment in your life most people might not know about?
Michael: It is probably that I’ve done such things as skydiving, mountain climbing (including a “14er”) and have hiked the Grand Canyon.

In high school, what was your favorite subject and why?
Michael: I loved history (and still do). I am fascinated by those willing to dare greatly. As Teddy Roosevelt said "It is not the critic who counts: not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles or where the doer of deeds could have done better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly, who errs and comes up short again and again, because there is no effort without error or shortcoming, but who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions, who spends himself for a worthy cause; who, at the best, knows, in the end, the triumph of high achievement, and who, at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who knew neither victory nor defeat."

What is your favorite hobby or past time?
Michael: I love to read. A good book is a passport to anywhere. It can take back in the past or into the future, or to anywhere in the world (or universe for that matter). A good book and make you laugh or make you cry, it can challenge you and inspire you. A good book opens up your mind to something new.

What is your favorite book and why?
Michael: I have lots of favorites but if I have to pick one it would be “To Kill A Mockingbird” by Harper Lee. It goes beyond just being an exceedingly well written story. It eloquently talks about the coexistence of good and evil in the world but shows that in the end if we believe in the innate goodness of the human spirit and treat people accordingly life can be a wondrous experience.
