What is your favorite quote and what does it mean to you?
Joel: That justice and freedom are inversely proportional. I love this quote which reminds me that not all sets of goals are compatible with each other. Sometimes the best results come from striking the right balance between two conflicting goals. Anyone can drive profit to the point they kill the company. The really great leaders find the balance that maximizes all the key goals.

Name a couple of organizations that you belong to
Joel: I am proud to say I founded ExecTec a networking group for executives in the entertainment, Media, Technology and other related business fields. This face to face networking group allows executives to share ideas and benefit from each others vast experience while creating friendships that will help them achieve their personal and professional goals.

Name one event that has singlehandedly influenced you most
Joel: I spent 5 years working on a live daily television show. There is nothing like live television with its fast and unforgiving pace to teach the hard lessons of life. Where there is not 5 more minutes and you can not miss the deadline you learn quickly that loosing ones cool will not help you get the job done when time is up.

Who or what do you aspire to and why?
Joel: To be the President or CEO of a Company. Only as the one key leader at a company can you inspire and motivate all the employees to drive the overall success of the company. As the leader there are no excuses. Success or failure is based on your ability to communicate an effective vision which the employees use to create whole which is greater then the some of its parts.

Can you name one accomplishment in your life most people might not know about?
Joel: As 26 year veteran of the Boy Scouts (Eagle and Vigil Honors) and a trained Red Cross Life Guard as a youth, I have been lucky twice to use my first aid skills to save someone’s life. While the accomplishment is one in which you are just doing what you were trained to do, I can think of no other accomplishment in my life that could top the saving of another’s life.

Name two aspects of your career that you are most passionate about
Joel: First, I love working with and developing staff. There is not greater thrill then helping another person maximize their true potential. Secondly, I really enjoy making technology and systems work together. While many struggle with technology and systems I have always enjoyed making these things work together.
